Paul (Paulie) George Romero, a beloved member of the Dinuba community, passed away on May 23,2024, in Visalia, CA. He was born on January 26, 1934, in Tulare, CA. Paul led a remarkable life filled with dedication and service to his country and his community.
Paul's career was marked by years of hard work and commitment. served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1959, holding various roles including Production Technician and earning an Honorable Discharge 1959. Following his military service, Paul worked at North American Aviation before joining the Dinuba Sentinel & Printing, where he served as Advertising Manager from 1957 to 1998. He also took on the role of Composing Manager and filled in for Editor/Publisher when needed.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Paul was dedicated to his education. He attended Kings River College in Reedley for self-enrichment courses across various disciplines and was a proud graduate of Orosi High School.
Throughout his life, Paul received numerous accolades for his contributions to the community. He was named Junior Citizen of the Year by the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce in 1973 and received the Eagles Lodge Builders Award in 1971. His service extended beyond Dinuba as he was recognized as Man of the Year by the Cutler Orosi Latin American Club in 1965 and later by the Cutler Orosi Lions Club from 2000 to 2001. Paul's commitment to service earned him several awards and recognitions over the years, including "Airman of the Month" during his time in the Air Force.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Evelyn Elizabeth; his children Michael, Mark, Edward, and Elizabeth; as well as 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Services to honor Paul's life will be held at Sterling & Smith Funeral Home in Dinuba for viewing on June 6, 2024, followed by a Funeral Service at New Life Community on June 7, 2024. He will be laid to rest at Smith Mountain Cemetery on the same day.
