                                                                              Pamela J Poe Obituary

Pamela Joan Poston Poe passed away on Feb 3rd, 2024 at the age of 72. She is survived by her husband, Russell Poe, her brother William Poston, sister Trish Poston, stepdaughter Ashley Poe Lott and many cherished close family members and friends.

Pam was born in Detroit and graduated from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, MI.  She attended Michigan State University and earned a degree in retail buying. Pam got her dream job at May Company in California, starting out as an assistant manager and working her way up to head buyer in the misses department. Pam soon won accolades and traveled the world overseeing the multimillion-dollar department to record sales increases. She flipped the script and went to work selling a variety of items from men’s accessories to hotel furnishings where her sharp negotiating skills helped her succeed. She went back to the buyer side at Gottschalks and enjoyed doing the buying for the misses department again.

For over 40 years, Pam and Russ were attached at the hip and had a fantastic life together full of outdoor adventures! Their residence in Fresno allowed them to enjoy the local skiing and camping in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. Pam was an avid reader and remained quite the force on the tennis court. Every summer they flocked to their favorite getaway in the Fourth of July cove on Catalina Island aboard their legendary power boat, Student Body Right. Through the yacht club, she had a very strong group of friends and would participate in a variety of wonderful activities including dominos, themed parties, paddle tennis, biking, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. Pam’s network of girlfriends throughout her life were absolutely some of her favorite people in the world.

Pammie Grammie’s grandchildren, Taylor (11), and Logan (7), filled her heart with endless love and joy over the years. Pammie and Poppy (Russ) would eagerly jump on any chance they could to spend time and help with the kids. With Pam’s passing, Russ will be moving to Santa Barbara to be closer to Ashley’s family and one of his best friends, puppy dog Lockett Lott.

Pam will be remembered for being dedicated to her loving family. Pam and her siblings were especially close and supportive of their mother Lee in her later years. Pam, we will miss your smile, laughter, and plan to celebrate your wonderful life!
