Mesfin Marcos

Mesfin Marcos, 56, died on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at his home in Visalia, California.

Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he became a pilot at the Ethiopian Airlines, before moving to the United States and later to various countries in Africa where he continued to work as a pilot. He later joined the United States Navy in 1994 and served for 20 years before retiring in 2014. He served at various duty stations around the world and was stationed for several years in Lemoore, California. He returned to flying after his military retirement and moved to Visalia in 2022.

He was predeceased by his father, Markos Gebremedhin, in 1998, and younger brother, Fesseha Markos, in 2012.

His beloved survivors include son, Nicholas, of Alexandria, Virginia; daughters, Rachel of Corona, California, and Odessa, of Visalia, California; mother, Merkeb Bishaw, of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and brother, Kibret Markos, of New York.
