Frank Nuñez, a beloved family man, officer, coach and outdoorsman, passed June 9, 2022, with family by his side. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Nuñez, father, Frank Nuñez, stepfather Junior Alvidrez, sister Anita Guerra, brother Daniel Nuñez, and grandson Paulie Pryce Nuñez-Cortez. He's survived by his wife, Felicitas Nuñez, daughter Jackie Nuñez and sons Jesse Saldivar, Israel Saldivar, Frankie Nuñez, Paulie Cortez, and Tommy Cortez. Frank was born and raised in Tulare, CA. After playing football for Tulare Western High School, he'd continue his devotion to the school by coaching football (and wrestling) for many years. He was active in youth and high school athletics dedicated for his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was an amazing coach and mentor to all kids. In fact, he was an amazing friend to everyone around him Frank was a diehard fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco Giants. But his favorite teams, by far, were any team starring his kids or grandkids. Frank was a proud correctional officer for the state of California, serving 26 years at Corcoran State Prison. He inspired others in his family to follow his steps and become an officer. Frank's favorite pastimes revolved around his family and adventures: camping with the whole family, deep-sea fishing with his boys, weekend trips to Morro Bay with his daughter and granddaughters, and trips to the casino. And, of course, dancing with the love of his life and wife of 32 years, Feliz. The viewing will be 1-5 P.M. Wednesday, June 22 at Sterling and Smith, 409 North K St. in Tulare. Mass will be at 11 A.M. Thursday, June 23 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 South O St. in Tulare. Frank will be laid to rest at Tulare North Cemetery after the church service. A reception will follow at the TDES Hall, 515 N. I St.
