Amelia Sierra Navarro

On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, Amelia Sierra Navarro, loving wife, mother and grandmother went home to the Lord at the age of 82 surrounded by family.
Amelia was born on July 10, 1937 on Rancho Las Margaritas in Coahuila, Mexico to Teodolo Sierra and Guadalupe Macias Sierra.
On January 30, 1962, she married Narciso Navarro, Sr. Together they raised ten children. They had six sons, John, Robert, Raymond, Narciso Jr., Roger and Rodney, and four daughters, Maria, Gloria, Belinda and Rosemary.
Amelia was humble and sweet and was a light for all she encountered. She loved the Lord and Our Blessed Mother and along with her husband, Narciso Sr., ensured that all her children knew Jesus and were baptized into the Catholic faith and received their First Communion.
Amelia was a true model of strength and sacrifice. She willingly gave of herself, dedicating her life to her marriage and children. She was a devoted homemaker, providing delicious home cooked meals and spent many hours washing and mending clothes and shopping for the entire family. She enjoyed embroidery, was an avid reader and loved to dress beautifully for special occasions. She also loved gardening and caring for her flowers and plants and watching them grow. She had a special love for animals and provided them with safety and care. She especially loved family get-togethers and learning about the latest family events, including those of her grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She lived as she loved, selflessly, always giving, never judging.
Amelia was preceded in death by her father, Teodolo Sierra, her mother, Guadalupe Macias Sierra, and her brother Oscar Sr. She is survived by her husband Narciso Sr., her ten children, Maria, John, Gloria, Belinda, Robert, Raymond, Narciso Jr., Rosemary, Roger and Rodney, along with her first cousin, Teresa M. Torres, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous extended family members.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 19th, 2019 at Sterling and Smith Funeral Home, 409 N K St., Tulare, CA, 93274 from 10a.m. to 4p.m. with a rosary at 3p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2019 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 S O St., Tulare, CA, 93274 at 10a.m. A burial will follow the funeral at the Corcoran cemetery, 4170 Waukena Ave, Corcoran, CA, 93212, at noon.
